  • Biker Chic

The definition of biker chic is: female who rides motorcycles. WRONG! Biker chic is a sexy captivating look that fashionistas all around the world embrace! Biker chic is not a trend, but rather a look that we all go for every now and then. It is so easy to wake up in the morning before work and walk out the door with tights, t-shirt, a leather jacket and boots. I recommend that all fashionistas have a pair of pleather or leather pants in their wardrobe.

  • Cape Town Fashion Week – 2011 / Gavin Rajah

Cape Town Fashion Week is not a fashion week without Gavin Rajah presenting a collection. The invite-only fashion show called “The Jaipur Collection,” was held in the Ball Room of the Cape Town International Convention Centre and was packed to the brim!

The designer went back to his roots for his 2012/2013 collection, by showcasing the bright colours of india mixed with his signature bling detail, on dazzling evening gowns. In some cases a hint of the current seventies trend came through in various garments, including the high-waisted chocolate colour pants, worn with a bright turq “sari” scarf.

  • Cape Town Fashion Week – 2011 / Abigail Betz

Romantic, sophisticated and beautiful come to mind when thinking of the Abigail Betz collection. A powerful statement using no colour aside from black and white, modern cut gowns with the finest detail stood out whilst the crowd watched in awe. The Grace Kelley all over lace wedding dress was definitely inspiration for the lace gown presented.

  • Cape Town Fashion Week – 2011 / Habits

The Habits show kicked-off with five models in bright colour satin suits showing us just how bright and energetic the season is. Long floor length striped flowing dresses, with bright pink kaftans were the wow pieces of the collection. A very lucky Robyn Cooke wore one to the show and eyes were envious! The Habits team also focused on the white-on-white trend, which hypnotized the audience along with the most enchanting, stunning head pieces. My most desired piece was the black and white striped skirt with structured mesh sleeveless top.
