How many bags does each fashionista own? Is it not fascinating that we collect things in a little crafted piece of luggage that we carry around with us 24 hours a day? I once read that Tom Ford thought it was very sexy for women to go out with nothing but her phone and car keys in her hand. How ridiculous! Sure, sometimes when we go out in the evening we can be a bit more luggage free, but the contents in my bag can sometimes be critical to my future and not having a bag would be quite tricky! This obviously being when the contents include passports, fiance’s passports, credit cards and let’s not forget the all-important (massive) diary! No, not all of us have gone electronic yet!
A bag is so personal and such an important part of everyday life – will you ever give it up and be more of a clutch kind of girl? I spend a lot of time on blogs covering the street style part of fashion weeks and there are so many fashionistas out there that don’t ever carry a bag.
I wrote an article about the iPad bags being so cool the other day and a scary thought entered my mind – maybe one day we will only need our iPad device to do everything for us – open our front doors, open car doors, be a phone and who knows, maybe they would have discovered the cure to longevity and make-up would no longer be an issue!
Nonetheless, I don’t think I would ever give up mine – it’s become something of a security blanket after all these years!
