Sunglass Hut, the leading global sunglass retailer, is pleased to announce Georgia May Jagger as the new ambassador and face of the brand. The model and daughter of Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall will appear in campaigns for the Sunglass Hut beginning in September.
At just 20 years old, Jagger has already been hailed a style icon; known for her perfect pout and trademark gap toothed smile, she has graced the pages of American Vogue, British Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, W Magazine, Dazed and Confused, I.D., Purple and more. Georgia has been featured in campaigns for Hudson Jeans, Rimmel, Chanel, Versace and most recently Madonna’s Material Girl.
In this new ambassador role, Sunglass Hut is looking to Jagger to provide the brand with an inside look at what is happening with today’s fashion lover, not just provide advice for customers on the best sunglass shape for their face. Jagger’s personal style is reflective of the Sunglass Hut consumer and her personal interests in photography and travel will show how sunglasses can fit into all aspects of daily life.
“As we began our search for a new ambassador and face of Sunglass Hut, we recognized that we needed someone who could connect with our customer on a peer-to-peer level,” said Fabio D’Angelantonio, chief executive officer of the Luxottica-owned firm. “Today, the core Sunglass Hut customer is having fun with sunglasses, she knows her personal style and what looks good on her. She is looking to connect with someone on her level. Georgia is the perfect fit for that role. She’s a trend setter to her peers, she’s highly regarded by the fashion community for her style and beauty and of course, she loves sunglasses.”
In addition to appearing in front of the camera, Sunglass Hut is also looking at ways to incorporate Jagger’s love of photography into future campaigns and social media outlets as a way to further connect with the global Sunglass Hut audience. Jagger will be unveiled as the retailer’s new face at a press event at Sunglass Hut’s Fifth Avenue store in New York in September. She will also make an appearance for the brand in Sydney, Australia in November, when Sunglass Hut returns to Sydney Harbor with a floating store. The event, which Sunglass Hut first staged in the harbor last year, is designed to kick off Australia’s summer season. “When Sunglass Hut approached me about signing on as their spokesperson, I was really happy,” said Georgia May Jagger. “I love to experiment and have fun with fashion and with my personal style. I often find it’s the accessories, particularly sunglasses that complete a look.”
Georgia added, “In my travels across the globe, I would always see Sunglass Hut in the airports. I was very familiar with the brand and of course I never go anywhere without my sunglasses. It’s a perfect match!”
The fully-integrated campaign featuring Jagger was shot by photographer Dan Jackson and will launch globally in Sunglass Hut retail locations and online starting in September.
