Gaultier spring-summer 2013 collection inspired by the 80′s, models looking like Madonna, Annie Lennox, Boy George, Grace Jones and David Bowie who Gaultier himself use to dress back in the day.
A giant disco ball, gyrating male dancers and a soundtrack of golden ’80s oldies set the tone for the show, which featured models decked out like famous pop stars of yesteryear.
First up was Grace Jones in sharp pinstripe suiting and body suits revealing glimpses of flesh. Then came Madonna, blond wigs, cone bras, fishnet tops and all. My favorite section was an ode to the tomboyish style of Jane Birkin, which featured relaxed beige pinstripe suiting, a dolman sleeve jacket and slouchy wide trousers for example. A Sade interlude included some artful woven raffia dresses (sleek ponytails and over sized hoop earrings, of course). And Michael Jackson turned up wearing low-slung black pants, and that famous red leather jacket. Source : www.latimes.com
